Gather: Demonstration Gardening Classes
Gather is offering free, drop-in gardening classes throughout the summer at the YMCA of the Seacoast in Portsmouth!
Gain hands-on experience planting, growing, and harvesting your own produce in Gather’s raised beds at the YMCA of the Seacoast - located at 550 Peverly Hill Road in Portsmouth!
What it is: Free, 2-hour courses hosted biweekly from April-September covering how to start and maintain a garden at home in a small space
“Off” weeks will be drop-in sessions for you to come by and ask questions to gardening staff and volunteers
Location: Seacoast YMCA gardens: 550 Peverly Hill Rd Portsmouth
How to join: There is no registration required- drop in when you’d like! All are welcome, children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Two timeslots with the SAME content: come whichever time works for your schedule!
Tuesdays, 8-10am OR Thursdays, 4-6pm
What to bring: Gather will provide all the materials needed for the class, including garden gloves. We suggest that closed-toed shoes and gardening attire (i.e., clothing you are willing to get dirty) be worn.
July 28 and 30: Soil and Weed Management
August 11 and 13: Pest and Disease Management
August 25 and 27: Fall and Winter Gardening
September 8 and 10: Seed Saving and Fall Cleanup
September 22 and 24: Produce Storage and Preservation
