Kolrose Farm is a certified organic farm on 4 acres of leased land from Brandmoore Farm. Alex will guide us through the process from chicks to sales. Learn what is involved when pasturing both chickens and turkeys for meat. Timetables for ordering, raising, when to move them onto pasture and when to know when it's time, you know, to go to freezer camp.
You will dive into how pasturing is improving the pasture, how to determine stocking densities, when and how to move them, feed them, while keeping the labor to a minimum.
Alex will discuss his collaboration with another organic farm for on-farm processing, and talk about what is involved and why.
