2026 Farm-Based Education Network Fall Gathering
The Farm-Based Education Network is hosting a gathering at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, VT October 18 - 20, 2026. Registration will open this August, but in the meantime, we hope you'll save the date!

We believe that transformative learning experiences sow the seeds for a thriving and more just world. Shelburne Farms is the coordinating organization for FBEN and is so pleased to welcome you for this momentous event!
Accommodations
A limited number of accommodations will be available at no cost in houses & the Inn at Shelburne Farms.
Cost and Registration
Registration will open in August. This year, the event is offered at no cost due to funding from the US Department of Agriculture. To ensure that learning opportunities like this are available to farm-based educators into the future, please consider donating to FBEN. A limited number of $200 stipends are available to support presenters.
What to Expect
- Approximately 100 people gathering for peer-to-peer learning, great food, and important conversations;
- Workshops from those serving learners of all ages through programming on farms, in gardens, at community organizations, and schools. The request for workshop proposals will be open through 7/31/2026.
- Field trips to farm-based education programs near Shelburne Farms;
- Hands-on learning to remember the joy and wonder of experiences on farms;
- Peer-to-peer discussion;
- Time on the land to connect with Shelburne Farms and each other.
Registration will open mid-August, but for now, we are looking for people to share, teach, and lead workshops! We gratefully invite you to fill out the request for workshop proposals by this FRIDAY 7/31!
