Celebrate the 236th Birthday of the United States Coast Guard with the Wood Island Life Saving Station on Saturday, August 8, at Great Island Common in New Castle. They invite you to honor the long tradition of service that connects the Coast Guard, the historic Wood Island surfmen, and our community today.
Their mission, Helping Others: Then & Now, comes to life through our annual food drive benefiting Gather. Together, this event has collected more than one ton of food to help local families, and with your support, we hope to make an even greater impact this year.
Admission to Great Island Common is free! We ask that you bring a non-perishable food donation. Enjoy an evening of spectacular fireworks, food trucks, and live music from the Tony Mack Band, all while supporting a great cause.
