Lakes Region Composting Pilot Project Underway

NHDES is working with the Lakes Region Planning Commission to implement its Food Waste Composting Pilot Program, which is funded by an $87,300 USDA Composting and Food Waste Reduction Grant. The pilot program provides households with tools to compost at home and helps set up two municipal composting sites, at the Gilford and Wolfeboro transfer stations.
