Monadnock Co-op is thrilled to announce they have plans to open a Co-op in Jaffrey, New Hampshire!

Announcement via Monadnock Co-op

The Monadnock Co-op is thrilled to announce they have plans to open an additional Monadnock Food Co-op location in the former Rite Aid building in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, located at 14 Peterborough Road. The renovations will begin in the spring of 2027, positioning them to open early 2028! This location will provide a full-service grocery store (7,000-8,500 sq ft) to serve the greater community of Jaffrey and expand the positive impact – supporting local farmers and producers and giving back to the local community – fostering a strong, local economy in Jaffery.

They are honored by the opportunity to serve the community of Jaffrey and provide a full-service grocery store in town. This will allow them to expand our work with local farmers and producers to provide fresh, local and organic produce, meat, and specialty cheeses. Much like the Keene location, the grocery department will include a complete selection of pantry staples, bulk items, beer and wine, wellness and more. There will be a large cafe with house-made sandwiches, sides and salads, baked goods, and grab-n-go options for quick, healthy meals.

A store in Jaffrey will expand the community outreach and positive impact!

can improve access to local and healthy food options
can support more local farmers and producers
can provide a place to gather in Jaffrey
can provide opportunities for local jobs and career growth
can grow our community impact beyond Keene

Member-Ownership will extend to the Jaffrey store and once open, everyone is encouraged to shop and support both locations!  While being a Member-Owner has many benefits, everyone is welcome to shop at Monadnock Food Co-op.

HOW CAN COMMUNITY MEMBERS SUPPORT THIS EFFORT? In order to move ahead with this project, they need to raise $1.5 million in Member-Owner loans. This is truly a cooperative endeavor – please consider making a loan to support this project!  If you’re interested in learning more about providing a loan, please reach out to Michael Faber and the Board of Directors directly. Once the store opens, shopping in the store is one of the most important ways to support the project. It’s a big project and we’ll need everyone’s support to make it a success.

They look forward to providing you updates as the project moves forward.
