Press Release via U.S. Representative Kuster's Office

"(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) alongside U.S. Representatives Annie Kuster (NH-02) and Chris Pappas (NH-01) announced that $499,128 is heading to Clean Energy NH to support the expansion of their work to assist  small businesses and agricultural producers in New Hampshire’s rural communities with energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. These funds were allocated through the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) Technical Assistance as part of nearly $2 billion in funding provided for REAP through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)."

The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) Technical Assistance program is designed to give grant funding and to assist with loan through loan guarantees, for farmers and small rural businesses, that will reduce their energy costs and lower carbon emissions through renewable energy or energy efficiency.

The program has been running for many years, and has been very successful in New Hampshire, but now with the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, there is even more funding available. USDA Rural Development in New Hampshire also have funds to cover the costs of technical assistance providers, who can support farmers with grant writing, with SAM.gov and EIN hurdles, and who can connect them as needed to the right energy consultants or audits.

If you are a New Hampshire farmer interested in taking advantage of this program, please get in touch with the program support team at Clean Energy NH or contact the Sara Waring, State Director VT/NH USDA Rural Development, at Sarah.Waring@usda.gov.
