The Economic Impact of Our Food System

On December 1, the NH Food Alliance (NHFA) hosted "The Economic Impact of Our Food System," part of our 2023-2024 Network Café Series. During the café, we were joined by Dr. Nicolas Rockler, of the Kavet, Rockler and Associates, who led the research team that developed Volume 3 of A Regional Approach to Food System Resilience. The team estimated the number of people employed in New England’s food system, the economic impact of food system activities, economic multipliers for each industry, and the areas of growth and contraction to help us measure the economic impact of our food system. Nic provided an overview of the volume, including what the team learned and the volume's implications for New Hampshire's food system.
