On January 6, 2023, the NH Food Alliance (NHFA) hosted "Where Global Climate meets Local Food," part of their 2022-2023 Network Cafe Series. Network Cafe attendees heard from Dr. Allison (Alley) Leach of UNH’s Sustainability Institute about the carbon footprint, land use implications, and water consumption related to different food choices. Following, attendees asked questions in conversation with Alley led by Nancy LaRowe of Vital Communities. Many asked clarifying questions about the data Alley presented, while others inquired about the areas of intersection between a low-carbon footprint and strong local food systems and how to talk about the intersections in a clear and compelling way.
