Catch up with the NH Food Alliance's January 2022 Network Cafe

On January 7, the NH Food Alliance (NHFA) kicked off its 2022 Network Cafe Series with "NH Farm and Food Policy Roundup." As a follow up to November’s 2021 NH Agricultural Policy Forum, NHFA reconvened New Hampshire’s food system policy stakeholders and advocates to review, discuss, and network around the proposed agricultural legislation for the state’s 2022 legislative session. Network Cafe attendees learned about a variety of state policy, from climate and energy bills to school food reimbursement programs, and gained insight about New Hampshire's legislative process.

Watch the entire Network Cafe below! Also below are resources and links share by attendees and panelists. And feel free to follow along with the agenda HERE >>

HOW TO GET INVOLVED WITH NEW HAMPSHIRE POLICY

Check in on the House and Senate calendar for upcoming hearings and votes
Attend and testify your position on a bill at a hearing

View the House calendar here >>
View the Senate calendar here >>

Sign in and state your position on a bill
Signing in to state your position on a bill, preferably prior to the initially hearing for the bill, will let legislators know how constituents are feeling about the bill. The number of sign ins will be read at the hearing.

Access the House sign in page here >>
Access the Senate sign in page here >>

Email or call your legislators to share personal testimony about your position on the bill
The strongest testimony is relevant to the person sending it and their community and is best when it includes a short personal story or anecdote. There is also an option to send your testimony to the entire committee under which the bill is being heard or individual legislators.
