We envision a New Hampshire where people understand that their local food choices support thriving businesses, healthy communities, and vibrant working landscapes. Our partners work together to create shared content, public messaging, educational opportunities, and events to inspire people to choose local food options and transform our communities for the better. We also promote programs and design creative ways to make local food choices accessible and possible for all.
NH Eats Local Month
August is NH Eats Local Month— a month-long celebration of local food and New Hampshire farmers and food producers. In 2020, 100 partners across the state participated in this effort to engage their communities, educate eaters, and support our local food entrepreneurs. Events include social media bingo and scavenger hunt contests (with prizes!), film watch parties, storytelling, and more.
NH Eats Local – Year Round!
Our NH Eats Local initiative supports network partners with tools and resources to communicate the value of eating locally with their communities. Through shared messaging and statewide education and engagement opportunities, we can amplify the call to eat locally year round. Simply put, a strong local food economy keeps New Hampshire’s communities vibrant! See the NH Eats Local website for more information.
The NH Eats Local toolkit is filled with messaging guidelines and ideas to promote local food year round.
The Communications team meets monthly to connect and coordinate shared messaging, outreach, and education to encourage support for eating locally.
