Strengthening Local Food Procurement in NH’s Grocery & Restaurant Sectors

New Hampshire’s grocery stores and restaurants are where community, food, and farmers meet. The NH Food Alliance wants to strengthen that connection by bringing together leaders in each sector to network, learn together, and identify collaborative steps toward buying and selling more locally grown and caught food.

This fall, the NH Food Alliance is hosting two event series for leaders in each industry. Join us to:

Dive into industry and food system insights. The first-ever New Hampshire Food and Agriculture Strategic Plan, released in early 2025, offers insights from subject matter experts on 27 food system issues and topics, including the grocery and restaurant sectors. Hear a summary of and recommendations from the Strategic Plan related to your sector and get involved in what comes next.

Get your hands on local food procurement resources. Receive a copy of the 2025 NH Wholesale Producer Directory, a revamped resource to help you find local suppliers, and provide feedback to improve the 2026 directory.

Be in the know about and inform local food purchasing trends. Learn about the upcoming 2025 Local Food Counts project—a New England-wide campaign that measures how much local food is being purchased by New Hampshire food businesses and institutions that serve and sell food. The Local Food Counts project provides our food system with valuable insights on current food purchasing patterns, identifies opportunities to increase local food sourcing, and further New Hampshire and New England’s progress toward a stronger, more resilient food system.

Connect and collaborate to make change in the industry. Spend time with peers and partners from across the New Hampshire food system to share what your business and/or the industry needs to make sourcing local food more practical, efficient, and cost-effective.

Note! In-person events will be capped at 50 attendees and are intended for those working for a grocery store/market or restaurant. If you are interested in attending these events but work outside of the grocery or restaurant sectors, please register for the virtual events.

Please share this event series with industry friends and colleagues. Both in-person and virtual events are free to attend; in-person events will include a locally sourced lunch. Learn more and register below!
